When I call January 6th an insurrection, I say it from the point of view of the powers that were in power at the time did not respect the rule of law or of peaceful protest, it could be argued. To that you add physical desecration of the seat of US Government both in Senate and House by individual people. It became an insurrection because of these factors, as well as because the intent of the day for most was to encourage the ignoring of certified election results and the rightful election of the next president. Legal means of protest were exceeded, so it became an insurrection, treasonous to our principles.
