Peter Hotez is using a persuasion tactic where you seed an idea in the interviewer’s mind (and make it appear as if it’s Joe’s idea) by answering a question with an obvious answer with reasonable answers and purposely leaving out the likely answer a person would believe: “maybe people are not fully educated on the science and don’t understand truly how vaccinations work.” It sets up Peter to make it appear it was Joe’s idea.
