Man, I absolutely dig elk for a couple of solid reasons. First off, it's freakin' delicious. It's not just your average game, it has a unique flavor, and it's super nutritious. You're literally eating a super athlete, this beast is out there running from wolves and bears, fighting with swords growing out of its head, I mean it's a forest horse! It's full of essential nutrients that just rev up your body.

But there's more than just the taste and nutrition. When I bag an elk, that's a good eight months of food for me. We're talking hundreds of pounds of meat. It's not surface level consumption, it's survival, it's respect for the food chain. Plus, hunting isn't just about the kill, there's a spiritual aspect to it. It's challenging, it's about understanding nature, the animal and yourself. It’s not like shopping at the market, there’s an intimate relationship when you’ve hunted for your food.

And then, there's the whole aspect of how I hunt. I prefer doing it on bikes, you know, because it doesn’t leave a scent the way your feet do, and elk, they don’t associate the sound of a bike with danger. They see you on a bike, they see something novel, not a bipedal hominid coming their way. It's a whole different ball game, man. It's like working for your food, getting in touch with nature, contributing to the ecology, and the utmost respect for the animal. So yeah, elk is my jam for all these fascinating reasons!
