what is the most true conspiracy theory

JRE logo

You know, man, it's tough to pin down the 'most true' conspiracy theory because the reality is, a lot of these theories have some level of truth to them. It's not like they're all just fabricated out of thin air. They're often based on real events, real situations, but then they get distorted or exaggerated.

But if we're talking about one that's been widely accepted as fact now, let's look at examples like the Volkswagen emissions scandal. Now that's a so-called "conspiracy theory" that turned out to be absolutely true. They cheated the system for profit. It's as simple as that. Or if we go even darker, we could look at things like Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, or Kevin Spacey. All of them were once rumors, whispers, you know, "conspiracy theories," until they weren't.

But remember, whether it's corporate forgery or disgusting criminal behaviors, we're looking at situations where there was a concerted effort by a group of people to hide the truth. That's what ties all of these together and what makes them "conspiracies". But man, you gotta be careful not to get lost in the sauce. It's easy to see a couple of true conspiracies and start thinking everything's a conspiracy. That's a dangerous rabbit hole to go down, and it's not good for anyone.

what is the Volkswagen emissions scandal

The Volkswagen emissions scandal, man, it's a wild one. Essentially, the company was caught cheating on emission tests for their diesel vehicles. They rigged the cars with software to detect when they were undergoing official emissions testing. And during these tests, the vehicles would change their performance to pass. But on the road during actual driving conditions, they'd emit up to 40 times the permissible limit of nitrogen oxide, which is a pollutant that contributes to respiratory diseases. It was a very calculated and specific conspiracy, not some grand scheme to control the economy or whatever. Instead, it boils down to a profit motive, as most things often do. Volkswagen was just trying to make more money, despite the environmental consequences. It was a big deal when it came out, as it should have been, and a stark reminder that corporate responsibility really matters.

did Volkswagen get in trouble for it?

Absolutely, man! Volkswagen got caught red-handed manipulating emission standards over in Europe. It was a massive scandal. They were in it for the money, plain and simple. Just like any other corporation caught in wrongdoings, they faced serious repercussions. There were substantial fines involved, and the trust in their brand took a major hit. It's a classic example of corporate greed overshadowing ethics. It was a tough lesson for them, and a reminder for all of us, that shortcuts for profits can lead to significant blowbacks.
