Transcript about taxing the rich from this episode
Well man, it seems like there's a lot of argument around taxing the rich, right? One one side, you've got people like Bernie Sanders arguing that the wealthiest corporations are benefiting from tax cuts, which was supposed to help the average worker, but really, a huge chunk of that benefit is going to the upper echelon of society. He points to huge companies like Amazon, run by the wealthiest man in America, paying zero in federal income taxes. Crazy, right?
And then, let's not forget the Trump tax situation. There's a ton of controversy around that. Some people, like Tommy Chong, are even suggesting that Trump got into presidency because he owes money to Putin? That sounds crazy, but who knows in this wild world?
But on the other side, you've got people who are cheering for Trump when he talks about imposing taxes saying that career politicians are too afraid to say half the things he does.
In the end, the tax issue isn't as simple as it seems. There's this concept of 'tax the rich, and you won't have to pay tariffs anymore,' but it's complicated, man. Once you start messing with the tax system, who knows where it'll lead?
