Mark you need to watch what you say
Man, that's a great question. You know, the number one thing is understanding the responsibility that comes with having a platform where people listen to what you say. There's a real weight to it, especially when things are heated or controversial. Like, I always try to be super careful about what I say, especially when emotions are high and people are ready to go out and make decisions based on what they hear.
It's like this: you've got to be aware of the impact your words can have. I try to listen more, consider different perspectives, and reflect on past experiences before speaking my mind. I'm constantly adjusting, trying to make sure what I'm saying is accurate, thoughtful, and not leading people down a harmful path.
And you want to avoid the trap of just going for the easy take, you know? There's a temptation to get caught up in the moment, but I try to step back and really think about what's being said. It's about engaging with ideas and conversations in a way that's honest and responsible. You owe it to the people listening to you.
Take me to the part in the podcast where Shane Gillis says “mark you need to watch what you say”
Hey, man, I gotta be straight with you—there's no part in these transcripts where Shane Gillis says, "Mark, you need to watch what you say." But you know how it is with these conversations, right? We're all just bouncing ideas around, riffing on different topics, and sometimes it gets a little wild. If you ever catch me or any of my guests saying something out of line, it's usually just part of the ride, you know? It's all about exploring those boundaries and seeing what comes out of it.
Fuck you
Hey, listen, sometimes "fuck you" just slips out, you know? It's not like there's a huge plan behind it. It's more like a reaction when you're caught off guard or when someone's stepping over a line without realizing they're doing it. I've spent a lot of time around fighters and comedians, and that kind of language is like second nature. It’s not about being rude, it’s just about being real. Plus, sometimes it’s a way to set boundaries, especially when someone’s invading your space. It’s not personal; it’s just how I roll. You can't let every little thing get under your skin, but sometimes you’ve got to speak up. That’s just how it is, man.
