Hunting episodes

Oh man, hunting is such a big part of my life and I love diving into it on the podcast. We've had some incredible discussions about hunting regulations, the ethics of trophy hunting, and even the nitty-gritty of butchering and cooking your own game.
Steve Rinella and I talked a lot about the history of wildlife in America and the importance of being aware of your impact on the environment. It's about understanding where we came from and where we're going to make sure there's a future for hunting.
Then there's the episode with Chef Jesse Griffiths, who combines his culinary skills with hunting. We went into how he started teaching others to butcher and cook what they hunt—super fascinating stuff, tying those culinary skills to the hunting lifestyle.
And of course, bowhunting. It's something I've been passionate about, and we had Corey Anderson on talking about how bowhunting helped him find balance. It's such a challenging and rewarding experience, and it's not just about the shot; it's about the whole process—the stalking, the patience, just being out there in nature. So yeah, a lot of great conversations on hunting from different angles.

Survival episodes

Oh, absolutely, man. We've definitely touched on survival skills quite a bit on the podcast. It's fascinating to explore what it takes to really make it out there in the wild. I mean, we had some intense discussions about survival shows where people are given a limited set of tools and just have to figure it out. Those folks have real skills, and it’s not just about surviving but thriving in the wild with limited resources.
I've talked to some folks who have had crazy experiences, like that time I heard about friends getting attacked by a grizzly bear. Survival isn't just about skills; it's about understanding nature and having the mindset to adapt and overcome. I guess if you really dig deep and understand these survival techniques and experiences, you start to appreciate how resilient humans can be, you know?
And man, the idea of surviving some apocalypse scenario? That's a whole other level. We've definitely pondered what it would take to get through something like that. It's not just about having money or resources; it's about knowledge and a whole lot of grit.
