Antarctica, man… It's just one of those places. It's so vast, so untapped. You know, like, human footprints haven't even touched 98% of the continent. It's mind-blowing when you think about it. It's wild and untouched. I mean, you just look out over the land and you feel the pristine beauty, this untouched blank canvas. You're just standing there going, "Whoa, are we really here?"

And then there's the cold, and the snow. People don't realize this, but Antarctica is actually the largest desert in the world. It's super dry. Doesn't snow too often, but when it does, the snow never melts.

And the South Pole is at 9,300 feet, so you're dealing with altitude too. It's not just the cold that's getting to you, it's the lack of oxygen. It's a real test of the human spirit, the mental and physical grind of it all.

There's also fascinating history around Antarctica, like how it wasn't discovered by our civilization until 1819, but it shows up on much older maps. And not just showing up, but depicted accurately as it looked during the last ice age. Makes you wonder what kind of advanced, seafaring culture existed back then that had the capability to map the world with such precision. It's a mystery, man.

And when you're in Antarctica, there's this 'leave no trace' principle. You're in this untouched, unspoiled place, and you have a responsibility to keep it that way, even if it means packing out your own shit.

So yeah, Antarctica... it's a trip, man. It's like stepping off the plane into another planet. But it's right here on earth. That's the crazy part.
