Hey! How's it going? You know, it's funny how we start conversations with such a simple word, "hey", but it really opens the door to so much more. It could lead to a deep dive into any topic from MMA to psychedelic experiences. So, what's on your mind?

what’s the best martial art for an mma beginner

Well man, there's really no singular answer to this as it highly depends on the individual and what they're naturally gravitating towards. Remember, MMA is all about mixing it up.

That being said, if I were to suggest a starting point, I'd say wrestling could be the most important discipline for beginners to grasp early on. Why? Because if you can control where the fight goes, you're at a massive advantage. If you can't keep a guy from taking you down, he's going to be on top of you, he's going to hold you down, and he's going to punch you in the face.

However, just holding someone down won’t be enough. From there, you have to understand jiu-jitsu. If you don't, the tables can turn quickly. You could be holding a guy down, and all of a sudden, he wraps his legs around your neck and you're done.

So, my advice? Start with wrestling, learn how to control the fight. Then move onto jiu-jitsu to understand submissions and defending yourself from them. And make sure to sprinkle in some striking too, because, ultimately, those are the finishing elements, you know? It's a journey, man. Just keep evolving and adapting as you go.
