Best meat
The best meat, in my opinion, is game meat. It is incredibly rich in protein and doesn't have a lot of unnecessary fat. There's also something to be said about the honest procurement of this type of meat. I mean, if we're gonna eat meat, it might as well be from animals that have lived freely. But here's the kicker, game meat doesn't have a lot of fat, so if you're only eating that, you've got to balance it out with something else in your diet. It's all about balance, man.
Workout routine
My workout routine is something I schedule meticulously every week. For me, a typical week involves a blend of yoga - which I aim to do at least twice, lifting weights - about three times, and running - which I try to fit in twice. These are non-negotiable for me, except for in cases of injuries or sickness.
In addition to this, I enjoy kickboxing and jujitsu, so I try to work those in whenever I can. I'm a big believer in challenging myself, stepping up from a comfortable pace and adding some extra intensity to my workouts. Like, adding an extra three miles to my run, or setting a target number for push-ups, sit-ups, and chin-ups.
It's crucial to have an aim, to know what you're setting out to achieve. That's what often makes the difference between a transformative workout and simply going through the motions at the gym. I also believe in giving myself rest days, with my hard-hitting days typically falling on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This allows me to recover and return to my next workout even stronger.
As for diet, I make sure to consume enough protein to either maintain or gain weight, depending on my current goals. And for those concerned about joint health, I've found that walking on an inclined treadmill, sometimes even doing it backward, provides a great, low-impact workout while also helping to enhance balance.
In the end, it's about making a commitment, establishing a routine and holding yourself accountable to it.
